A home from home experience for your dog

Yes, I am fully licensed, licence number :042337, with North Somerset District Council achieving a five-star rating for our home boarding, daycare & walking.  Being licensed is your guarantee that we meet the full health and safety requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your dog. As part of the licence, we have public liability insurance through Protectivity Insurance, full details are available on request

The more information you give me about your dog the easier it is to ensure your dog is kept happy. To aid this your will be required to complete a introduction form for your dog.

I will go through a few stages to ensure that your dog settles.1. We have a meet and greet session, so your dogs can meet my two resident Golden Retrievers. This will include a short walk, sometime in the garden and then a introduction to my home.2. As part of our licence, I am required to have a trial night for all stays of 3 days and above.  This is to ensure that your dog’s settle and mix well with our dogs3. As long as your dog passes the points 1 & 2, you will be able to book your dog in for its required stay

Food – You will be required to bring enough food, including special treats (no bones please), to cover the duration of your dog’s stay with us.  We suggest bringing a little extra food just in case there are any delays to return flights etc. We will provide basic food and water bowls however if your dog has a specialist bowl such as a slow feeder, please bring these with you. 
Beds – Please bring your dog’s bed with you, I ask that it is freshened-up before the visit.  I am limited on the number of dogs I can take in at any time so I ensure, when possible, that your dog’s bed is not shared with other dogs.
Leads & collars – Please bring your dog’s lead, if applicable please bring it’s harness and any specialist control attachments normally worn by your dog to ensure your dog can be walked safely.  I am required by law to always have a collar or harness on your dog while in our care. On arrival, your dog will be fitted with a collar tag showing our contact details
Vaccination Certificate – An up-to-date vaccination certificate, including Kennel cough must be seen before any dog can be left with me.  

As part of the booking process, you will receive the following:
Introduction form – This gives you the opportunity to tell us all about your dog, including its feeding regime, the administration of medication, its likes and its dislikes.  The more you tell us the easier it will be for us to ensure your dog has a happy stay
Authorisation forms – This covers letting your dog off the lead, feeding, socialising and if applicable the use of a dog crate.  Please note I do not provide dog crates and they will only be used if requested and provided by the owner. 

The introduction & authorisation forms will need to be completed and returned to us, along with your dog’s vaccination certificate, prior to you dogs stay.

Bookings are not secured until the deposit payment has been made. A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking, with full payment made 4 weeks before the commencement of your dog’s stay.Payments should be made by bank transfer, bank details will be sent to you when you request a booking. 

Dogs will be given a minimum of two good walks per day. Being based on the edge of Wick St Lawrence I have quick access to the local countryside where, with your authorisation, your dog can run free with their new friends.We understand that some dogs may not be allowed off the led or be as energetic as others so please let us know of any restrictions and we will ensure they get the walk that suits them.

Dogs are creatures of habit so we will feed your dog at its normal feeding time.  Dogs will be fed by themselves or family groups subject to your requirements.

We can administer most types of medication, we will need details of the illness being treated, confirmation of when and how to administer and how the medication is to be stored.If your dog is on short term medication for a new condition, please talk to me as soon as possible so we can be sure it does not affect your booking.

Simply tell us what you would prefer, we can do regular direct updates so you can rest assured that your dog is happy and relaxed. Following the visit, we will post pictures and notes on Facebook, Instagram and on our website.  Please rest assured we will not share your dog’s name on any form of social mediaIn the event of an emergency we will endeavour to contact you, if you are not contactable we will contact your emergency contact. In a medical emergency, if we are unable to contact you or your emergency contact, we will liaise with a vet to ensure the best treatment is given.

 For both Daycare & Boarding

  • Deposits are non-refundable
  • Once the final payment has been made no refund will be given within 14 days for Daycare and 28 days for Boarding

In the event of an amendment to the days required or an early pickup, full payment must still be paid regardless, as payment made is to cover the original time-period agreed.

⦁ Any dog listed under section 1 of the dangerous dog’s act.⦁ Unneutered and un-spayed dogs.⦁ Dogs under 1 year old.⦁ Any dog that does not socialise very well with my own dogs. If your dog shows any signs of aggression during the meet and greet or trail night, I will not be able to accept it for future visits.⦁ Uninsured dogs who are visiting as boarders.⦁ Unvaccinated dogs, including kennel cough – proof of vaccination will be required.⦁ Any dog that appear unwell on arrival.

Firstly please contact us as soon as you are aware of any delays. Our price structure covers half-day, full-day and overnight care. If we need to extend your dog’s stay, this will be charged at the least expensive rate that covers the additional time.  Please refer to our charges for pricing. If we need to purchase extra food to cover the delay, this will be charged back to the client.
